System and Organization Controls (SOC 2)
SOC 2 is an examination and reporting framework developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). It evaluates controls relevant to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. A SOC 2 engagement produces an independent report. It is not a certification.
