NL-Wallet

Description

The NL Wallet, also known as the 'Reference Wallet,' represents the Netherlands' approach to fulfilling the eIDAS 2.0 mandate, which stipulates that all EU member states must offer a government-supported digital app at no cost to the user. This initiative is characterized by its commitment to transparency and collaboration, as evidenced by its open-source development model. The source code for the NL Wallet is publically accessible on GitHub, allowing developers and the public to contribute and stay informed about its progress. Furthermore, the project team regularly organizes sessions to discuss development updates, ensuring ongoing community engagement and feedback integration. The identity app will most likely contain PID data only (Passport, ID-card and Drivers licence) in its early phases.
